The Work

What this service covers

Cameron Electric works with several Waterloo Region general contractors as their go-to electrical sub. We also work directly with homeowners doing their own renovations or hiring trades a la carte. We attend site meetings, lay out switch and outlet placement with you before drywall, run circuits to code and pass ESA inspection without callback. Our scheduling is built around the rough-in and finish phases of your project, not around our convenience.

Common scope

  • Kitchen rough-in and finish wiring
  • Bathroom GFCI and exhaust fan circuits
  • Basement renovations and finished basements
  • Home additions and second-storey additions
  • Garage and shop wiring
  • Heat pump and AC circuit installation
  • Walkthrough switch and outlet planning
  • Coordination with general contractor schedule

Frequently asked

  • Can you work directly with my contractor?
Yes. We have ongoing relationships with several Waterloo Region builders. Your GC handles the schedule and we slot in for the rough-in and the finish, the same way we would on any of our other sites.
  • When in the renovation should I bring you in?
Before drywall. Once the framing is up and inspected, we walk through with you and mark switch and outlet locations. The wrong time to call us is after the drywall is up.
